Dror Doron recently emigrated to Australia from Israel. For the last 17 years he worked for Israel’s Prime Minster office as a senior analyst and a team leader heading research and analysis mission groups. He is an expert in the fields of national security issues, counter-terrorism and Middle East Geopolitics. Dror holds a MA in Contemporary Middle Eastern Studies from Tel Aviv University and he graduated with a year-long fellowship at Harvard University’s Belfer Center. He is currently a member of the Amit Terrorism and Intelligence Research Institute  in Israel and a contributor to The Jewish Independent in Australia”.

Iranian global terror capabilities and the risk to Jewish communities

As part of the "shadow war" between the Islamic republic and Israel, Jewish communities all over the world have been seen for decades as legitimate targets. The events of the past years have brought this threat to new heights as Iran launched a global terror campaign. This overview will present the history and the evolution of the heart and the risk Iran's efforts pose today.

Session 2

Israel’s potential to expand the peace circle - Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria.

New information revealed in the past month indicates that one of Hamas’s main reasons for attacking on October 7th, was to foil the signing of an Israeli-Saudi peace treaty. Today, after almost 3 years of fighting, new prospects for peace present Israel with new opportunities that could translate military achievements to historical diplomatic wins. The formation of a new regional order is not an impossible mission.

Session 2

Threats and opportunities facing Israel today

An overview of Israel’s mixed balance of threats and opportunities, two and a half years after October 7th. This session will focus on how the improved security situations in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Iran could turn into a strategic debacle and why military achievements could become a "Pyrrhic victory”.
